Hey guys.
I am slowly but surely figuring out how to navigate my jtag machine.
The part im at now is understanding TITLE UPDATES.

Lets stick with one game as an example. RED DEAD REDEMPTION.
I see as of now there has been 4 title updates for this game.
I have Red Dead on my jtag machine and its working.
I know it hasn't been updated with any title updates yet.

I want to have a understanding of how i can tell if a title update worked or not.

Questions:

1. Do I have to put Title 1 update file in the CACHE folder of the root of my external harddrive or the cache root of the XBOX 360 internal harddrive?

2. If I put all the title updates in the cache folder does it know how to update each one in order or how does all that work?

3. Do you even have to put all the title updates in the cache folder, or can you just use the newest title update file?

4. Do the Title update files remove from the cache folder once its been installed/updated?

Any other helpful tips and things to look out for would be appreciated.

Thanks all

1: Internal.

2 and 3: You only ever need the latest update, which always includes earlier ones.

4: Updates are applied on the fly every time you run the game. They're supposed to work when playing from a DVD, you know. wink.gif So they can't be moved/removed.

what happens for RED DEAD as the example, if i did put all 4?
what would the system do?
Install each one or just look for the newest code release?

Also,
does it have to go inside the internal xbox 360 hard drive CACHE folder Always?
I have a 2 terabyte external harddrive where all the games are loaded and i thought i could put them there.

How can i tell if an update actually installed or not?

Lets say you have the newest TITLE UPDATE in place and one DLC for the game, how can you tell if the DLC is loaded into the game?

as far as I know all u have to do is just put the latest update for read dead or whichever game. the latest one supercedes all other updates and goes into the hdd1\cache folder. Thats what ive learned. I also discovered http://www.xbuc.org/ which you can download the latest update and has a nice little faq on how this stuff works. Though im also still learning how to apply DLC and I'll keep a watchful eye on this thread.
