I have a 1.2 xbox with a Xecuter 2.6ce chip. I just flashed the chip with X2 5035. So I think the next step is to install a dashboard. The only file i have regarding a dash is EvolutionX Build 3935.rar Is this all i will need for the install? I've unpacked it and it has a bunch of other files with it, i just want to make sure there isn't another file i will need to download. I only have a cd-rom drive, so the only way i can do any of this is through FTP. I searched the site looking for guides on how to do this and the ones i found all mention burning a disc. Can someone either tell me how to go about this or give me a link for a guide on how do this soley through FTP?. My HD is 200gb. When i flashed the chip i just followed these directions http://www.teamxecuter.com/flashbios/http.htm Will i be able to use all 200 gigs? I really don't mind being limited to just the 137 gb, im just wondering if it still can be done with some ease. I have already installed the HD and havent backed up any files form the original xbox hd. I have no desire to ever use Live, just network play, and from what i have read, the only thing i would need those files for is Live. thanks a lot.

You cant FTP until you have a dash installed as they contain the FTP software, You could burn Evox on to a CD, boot the CD to get FTP happening then transfer the dash files to C: and you will be on your way. With the 200gb HDD you have 2 options in the BIOS
1. .67 F to 137GB and G the rest. This gives you 2 partitions but access to all space on the HDD 2. .6 One large F partition, again this gives access to the entire hdd just no G partition You really only need option 1. if your HDD is over 250GB because any larger and you get files corruption on 1 large f drive. |

Easiest way would be to use an autoinstaller disk such as AID2.11 or slayers or xdisk

So what is the basic oder I need to go in? If i burn evox to a disc and boot from it, wouldn't that just be the same as installing the dash? What would the need be for FTPing the dash files? Is there a difference between the dash and Evox? At what point will i formatt the HDD? Will I just do that through the dash once it gets installed? Also, when i get this disc burned, what do i want on it? Just the complete folder that was created by unpacking the whole EvolutionX Build 3935 file, or will i need to add or edit some files? thanks for helpin me. |

Ok, if you have not formatted the HDD yet then get a copy of newhdevox1.4 it will format the drive for you and fits on a CD an Autoinstaller like Slayers will do the same thing and contains apps but is a larger file to download. In my first post I meant to make an Evox boot disk so you could get FTP access to put the dash files on your hdd.

The New hdd boot will format the drive for you so no, boot disk, format HDD, load dashes apps etc.

Its not quite as bad as the horse and cart, but at times it does feel that way. I live in a small town of about 4000 people in Homer, Alaska. Im just home for winter break for college and i wanted to get this done before i head back. None of my friends are in town right now and my pc is about 5 years old. But i have already solved the CD problem. thanks for the help guys

You really should look into getting a CD-RW drive. They're really cheap, and if you can install a mod chip you can definitely install an optical drive in your PC.
