Yeah, that's coz you have the 1.6b unfortunately !

Try selecting some of the other banks on the chip - there should be a 3.0.3 version of the BIOS on there somewhere.

It will only have the flash bios for 1.6b (3.03) if it's a CE. CE has a red back and white belly. regular X3 is purple.

You have to have someone w/ an X3 modded Xbox (other than 1.6b) flash it for you.

^^ What he said. The ce comes with both so if its a ce you are ok, otherwise you gotta flash it from a pc with a programmer or with another xbox.

Yes. And while you're at it you might want to flash some 256k banks from 5-8 w/ flash bios 3.03, so you don't have to switch box's next time.

Would this apply to 1.6 consoles as well? Sorry if it's obvious, but just wanted to make sure. I'm pretty sure I have a 1.6 and not a 1.6b. Thanks.

The 1.6 works w/ the 3.00 and 3.01, but does not work w/ 3.03.

A 1.6b will only work w/ 3.03.

If you have a 1.6 then either chip (X3 or X3 CE) will be fine right out of the package.

It's the original X3 (purple) that needs to be reflashed for a 1.6b mobo.

Neither boots, sounds like you could have mixed up the chips when putting them back in. That or you loosened some pins when removing them. It doesn't mess anything up doing the flash n' switch, I had to do it for my 1.6b (before CE release).
