I made up a spread sheet to help directly compare some of the specs of the new console...
the Revolution doesn't have much info available but I'll update it once it becomes available

Note: items in [] are speculative

looks like the ps3 is a head in total system flops, memory speed and a tiny bit int he gpu

thats hardly beatin every way
the xbox seems to stand storong
against a technology twice its stregnth...
but we'll have to see

Looking through that list it feels like Sony just took the Xbox spec list and doubled everything

though from experience the first Xbox was very close to it's projected specs (I think ram was less but that was about it) and the PS2 couldn't hold a candle to it's projected specs so...

I don't know why but the PS3 just reminds me of the Sega Saturn

But remeber the PS3 final specs have not been released yet so in theory the specs that you have listed can either be downgraded or upgraded come launch time. Including the look, guys it's just a prototype remember all the fugly 360 prototypes in the our colony video.

I was thinking the same damn thing!

Xbox1 has always gave me a simular vibe that the Dreamcast gave me.

I fantasize about SEGA putting out some new Hardware.

so ps3is only a little better in hardware, but i didnt hear about all the great features it has like xbox360 has, this is why xbox360 will prolly be my favorite system. The only thing that bothers me is the Wifi for xbox 360 you will have to buy an adapter but with ps3 it comes standard.(but we once again have harddrive and they dont)

I know it says Optional Removable! They will let us use the HD that we already have in ps2 (I think)!

If u r right, f sony! I ain't gonna get Fed as I did with HD!

the xbox360 harddrive comes standard whereas the PS3 one does not, meaning its not going to be used in most games.... the 360 will use the harddrive in almost everything... i see the PS3 harddrive as just a huge memory card.... unless games are designed to use it and require it, meaning those with a PS3 will need to buy one separate neways... its better standard

edit: look at the size comparison from ign...
PS3 = About 13.5" x 3.25" xbox360 = About 10.25" x 2.5"

our lovely xbox is smaller than the PS3 suck on that japan...

Isn't funny that most of the "features" they talk about you can already do in most of the current xbox games. "Match Making" started with Halo 2, "personal gamer scores" Halo 2, being able to send messages to other people who are playing different games started with that wole Live Aware thing. But now I can buy useless trinkets to dress up my avatar, watch game/movie trailers and download game demos. But I don't care for movie trailers and I get game demos from OXM.

Now the reason why Sony didn't really talk about there features was because they were too busy showing off there games. The MS Press Conference was a collosal disater just like the MTV thing. How can MS Hype up there new machine and only mention the game that actually made them some money once, Halo. They didn't even run any tech demos!?! Now don't get me wrong I love Xbox but there marketing stratgey was a complete failur in my oppion.
