I created a "ticket" in their system.

Anyone else ever have to deal with these people, and if so, what method of contact did you use?

It is disappointing when you get your mod chip but can't solder it in!

Thanks all.

I never dealt with them, but Llamma.com sells headers, and so does a local radio shack.

NO, my local Radio Shack was unable to help me.

Also, I feel EB2K should make good on what they sell and live up to their promise on their web site of:

"We at Easybuy2000.com thrive on Customer Service. We will always be here if you need help, by phone or by E-mail. If you have any problems with anything, don't hesitate to contact us! We promise to be there for you."

However, the only email address they list is wholesale@easybuy200.com, and their phone (even during EST hours) goes to voice mail after a minute of elevator music, and they never seem to address help tickets.

Yeah, I might have to use the excellent Llamma's site to get a pin header, but really, I shouldn't have to.

I did track down that the company is really doing business as Easybuy2000.com but is really "Mod Chip America" from Champlain, NY.

First I searched the Canadian Better Business Bureau, which led me to the Upstate New York Better Business Bureau.

Like this: http://www.ccbbb.ca/investigate.cfm
to this: http://search.bbb.org/Results.aspx?n=easyb...&st=&z=
to this: http://search.buffalo.bbb.org/codbrep.html?ID=51000794

Wow, I guess I should have searched them BEFORE I bought from them.

Here is what the BBB says about them:

"Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the BBB due to unanswered complaint(s)."

ALL BE WARNED

If they turn out to make good on their 100% joke, then I will reply to this message and let you know what happened.

OK, I got the pin header from Llamm.com and installed the mod chip.

It turns out EB2K sent the X-Chip instead of the X-Lite, which comes with a pin header, but the X-Chip doesn't.

So, I guess it is a pretty good deal, but what a hassle.

As far as the X-Chip, it works fine, I put a secret BIOS on and ran Slayers.

So far so good, at least it works.

For the record my Xbox is a version 1.0 with a Thomson drive.
