Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter is great (very fun single player and also fun online, but a bit frustrating at times because some people spawn camp and ruin the experience, but that happens in most games i've found).....COD2 is also good (for single player, haven't played much on xbox live). I played the online demo of Battlefield 2 and must say that it was a horrible experience.....

there really has been a lot of really good games for the 360 already, depends what type of game you want,....

pgr3 is a great great game, but if you dont like racing, then it's obviously not for you. there's been a lot of good said about condemned, though i haven't played it, so i do not know.... call of duty got a lot lot lot of praise, and i really liked what i've played of it, but i havent't played bf:mc so can't compare the two....
like the above poster said, graw is a lot of fun single player, my online experiences have been mixed....

just go to a few editorial sites and read around, there are alot of good games out man,.... it's hard to go wrong right now....

oh, and don't forget XBLArcade! A bunch of great (cheap) titles there, as i'm sure you've read about the hoopla for Geometry wars (which was well deserved hoopla, btw).... so check that out, the demos are free so download em all!

word, enjoy the 3-6-Oh!

I'd say CoD2, definately GRAW. It's good for MOST graphics whores as well as people who just like a GOOD game, but it has a few glitches in it, but nothing MAJOR.
DOA4 is a fun game, but I can't play it because my copy has disappeared. Great online and pretty good single player, and the visuals are pretty much unmatched.
Also, download a lot of demos. Play a demo before you buy!!!! They are also pretty fun and can keep you busy for a while.

Get Gamefly from Best Buy. It's a special promo that gives you 2 months, 2 games at a time, for $20.

My buy choices,
GRAW: great graphics, 16 man co-op, more missions to be added on LIVE, very fun mulitplayer elements

PGR3: Challenging race sim, new cars on the way (fingers cross, Buggatti 16/4 Veyron, and Saleen S7 Turbo)

*on a side note the Saleen is faster when raced because it doesn't have a "top speed mode" that would limit its handling ability, read Car & Drive. If this car is added, it would be like having god mode in Doom.

I have these 2 games : COD2 and Condemned...

COD2 is an addiction...you play it once on LIVE and you get addicted to a point that for every free second you are online shooting. Definately is a buyer

Condemned is good though you play it once and you leave it there.

I have 2 hot orders which should get next week and have as well difficulty in choosing which one to start. Tomb Raider Legends and Oblivion.

TombRaider if you have played the first sets of TombRaider on the PlayStation then its definately a buyer. If you are not that old like me biggrin.gif ( btw am 38 ) then you will still love this game since its a game which lasts for many hours with family watching your progress.

Oblivion well I never played the morrowind series but since was a fan of FABLE and I love games which are adventureous then I think its strictly a game to have.

Am sorry am not into racing and sports games so cant give you my input...

Happy Gaming...

Marble Blast Ultra & Geometry Wars should get you started. The XBLA gets almost all my attention (except Burnout tongue.gif ) If nothing else, you can download demos and check the games out for free.

Sorry, had to correct

COD2 is grweat single player but terrible multi-player and doesn't have the highest game scores to date, see below

Gamespot.com 8.8 http://www.gamespot.com/search.html?type=1...ype=all&qs=cod2
IGN.com 9.0 http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/743/743289.html

Now see Ghost Recon GRAW

Gamespot.com 9.2 http://www.gamespot.com/search.html?type=1...ype=all&qs=graw
IGN.com 9.2 http://xbox360.ign.com/objects/736/736206.html

So you can see GRAW has higher game scores than COD2, both are solid games. COD2 is easier and has more cartoon like graphics when compared to GRAW. Whereas GRAW is harder, not a run and gun and better multi-player

Must haves for various Genres
My Recommendations:

FPS:
1. GRAW (fantastic multiplayer and good single player)
2. COD2 (amazing single player and so-so multiplayer)

Racing:
1. PGR3 (fantastic graphics and gameplay, will last a LONG time)
2. Burnout Revenge (lots of fun, great arcade racer, will last a LONG time)

Fighting
1. DOA4 (amazing graphics, and the best DOA game to date, lots of online and offline options)
2. FNR3 (amazing realistic graphics, game is pretty short though)

Adventure
1. Condemned (great graphics, fantastic story, and scary, my favorite 360 game so far)
2. Kameo (amazing graphics, and very unique gameplay, reminds me of the N64's hay-day)

RPG
1. Oblivion (amazing graphics, MASSIVE environments, fantastic story, the game has it all)
2. FFXII (not much to choose from for RPGs, but the beta is free if you find an old OXM disc, you'll either love this one or hate it)

Sports: use you're own discretion.

Also XBLA download EVERY game and try them all. I own a number of them and I'm strongly considering buying more. You MUST buy Geo Wars though, seriously, it's worth ever penny of the $5 it costs.

If you don't mind getting used games, GameStop and EBGames are currently having a buy 2 get 1 free promotion for used games, and that includes 360 games.. I would take advantage of it myself, but I have all of the games they're selling already..

Also I believe toys-r-us has a buy 2 360 games, and get king kong 360 for $10..
