Ok i just got my xbox360 today and I turn it on and set up live and then played pdz and I plugged in my play and charge controllers so they would charge and then I turned off the xbox. It sounds like the fan or something is still running on it even though it's off. Thank you for any info on this

I don't have a 360 yet, but I read that other people are having this happen as well. I'm not sure why the 360 would need the fan to be on when just charging the controllers....Unless there is some sort of voltage regulator on the mobo that feeds the power to the controller. Then I would believe that the fan stays on in order to help keep that component cool.

Some questions:

Does the X360 automatically stops recharging the battery pack when it reaches peak charge? If so, does the fan stop as well?

I think the way the 360 is set-up to run is simply any voltage supplied through the MOBO (in this instance to the USB) means the fan will operate as a safety measure.

Yes, it automatically stops charging and the fan shuts off as well.

It'll continue to trickle-charge if you've connected the charge kit *when the Xbox is on* even after you shut off. The LED won't be lit though.

And that's just a trickle, mind you.
