my ps3 will play dvds no problem for about a min or so then the screen will go black.
ive changed numerous setting but none seem to solve it. please help !!!

have you tried the cables... i know you said settings but that could mean too many things... you didn't mention anything about hardware.

well hardware wise i use a samsung t220 monitor (1680x1050) but accepts 1080p.Its fime playing games but for playing dvds its not so happy.

Sounds like an HDMI cable issue. I expect you have tried various screen resolutions. See if it still does it with upscaler turned off.

yh i have tried different resolutions and tried it with the upscaler off but still no look. the only way i can get the picture back is by unplugging then plugging the cable back in, or by (blind) going back to the ps3 menu. its really starting to annoy me. im not sure wohats the problem the ps3 or the monitor ????

could it be the resfresh rates ???
