Hi,

I have a liteon DG-16d2s drive and the plastic bit that holds the magnet in the top of the drive cover is broken. Does anyone know where I can purchase said plastic magnet part in the UK? The drive needs a new laser as well so Im thinking I might as well just buy a new drive and flash it.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately I don't have for the specific model, but I would suggest you to get a faulty drive (or new) from ebay, they are kind of affordable.

Yes as madmax suggested, ebay would be the place to look. I've seen people selling just the top drive lid on ebay, and you could buy the whole thing and plop it on there. As for the laser, they are fairly cheap, but you might be able to get some more life out of yours by pot tweaking it if you wanted.

Also, your laser and I believe the drive magnet too, are identical to the BenQ Xbox 360 drives, so you can take that into consideration on your hunt.

EDIT: If you decided to buy a whole new drive, I wouldn't bother with flashing it. It would be easier to just swap the PCB boards then to mess with flashing. Unless you've done it quite a few times, liteons are a pain to flash because they require a special probe to unlock.
