Check your coolant but my bet is you need a new water pump.

Heya

It has been a while but we have fitted a new water pump etc but it still hasnt worked, Any know if a head gasket replacement is easy ? i think it is over head cam so it'll be a bitch cause of the timeing etc, i think that though....so it may not be over head.

Regards
Dan

he already has put a new water pump on...

Head gaskets are expensive to get replaced so try everything else first. A little tip to stop having air pockets in your cooling system. Run the car after you fill your rad up to the top. The level will go down, keep adding until its at the top.

EDIT: Drain the coolant and look at it. If it looks dark and burned its deffinatly a head gasket. You can also taste it, although I don't really reccomend it. Usually it tastes really sweet, if its burned it will be bitter.

Hi

Right well long time no speak on info here. Got it sorted, it was the head gasket, cost £340 for it all to be done and head was skimmed. Now for another problem tongue.gif

It was doing it before, but now its kinda worse, You put the key in the ignition, twist it and it buzz'z near the stearing columb and wont start, it takes a couple attemps to get it to to start without it buzzing, any ideas ?

Regards
Dan

you sure its from the column? sounds like the selenoid on the starter or the starter itself.

Hi

Uhm...well it sounds as if it is in the columb or to the right of the columb (In UK btw). I do not know where the solenoid is in it. it does it almost everytime when i try to start the car, sometimes it buzz sometimes it buzz's then starts...some times it never buzz's.

Hi

Uhm...dont say that blink.gif

But yeah anyway, new update....The black box seems to be covering another black box, We think its part of the thatchem 1 alarm installed. It sounds like a relay is bust.

The window doesnt go neither up nor down, with the passenger switch or the drivers switch (for the passenger window)...

Any ideas ?

Whats the likely hood of the Motor going bust ? it has around 70 thouhsand miles on the clock and is 10 years old so in theory its under miled smile.gif lol... I'm geussing, it is going to be difficult to diagnose the window problem and buzzing unsure.gif

the regulator is what makes go up and down and is usually found inside the door panel. behind the doors sheet metal.

have a look and make sure its not jamming up or anything like that.

EDIT: check the fuses FIRST before you do anything.
