First off I'd like to thank anyone in advance for any help.

I had a problem with my computer so i formatted it and reinstalled Xp Home sp2. Now, I cant access shared files from xbmc. I havent ever changed my xml file. All I had to do was go to "WORKGROUPS(SMD) Network" in "My Files" and i could access the shared folders on any computer on my network. Now, I see only my computer, but i cant see any of the files that i have shared.

Once again any Help is greatly appreciated.

What do you have as your share setup as in the xbmc xml? I say start with the obvious first.

Whenever I format my comp I try to make the re-setup of smb as quick as possible (eg same comp name formt my old setup etc). beerchug.gif

Thanks for the response.

Well, I had never changed my xml file. And it worked fine. The first time i copied xbmc on my xbox, all i had to do was select workgroups and i would be able to see the shared files on my computer.

I format my computer and for some reason it doesnt work anymore.

Do I have do change the xml file now, because i know i hadnt done that before and it used to work.

Ah my setup is a little different then yours. Wish I could be of more help. I setup smb using:

smb://domain;user:password@ip/share/directory/

I'm sure someone must setup like yours though beerchug.gif
