The system compat updater only installed what amounts to a title update con for me, and going by the size of the data on a retail drive's compat partition (ie ~200M) the update xex is far too small to contain all of that data.

The system menu's format drive option (according to xplorer360) created all the system partitions except the compatibility one.

I wanted to know if anyone could help me with this? I have used the partition fixer and can see hddx on the menu. I have tried install the backwards compatibility update and even tried the Fusion update. So I wanted to ask someone here if they knew where to put the emulators files on this new created partition? I have a couple Retail games that are on the compatibility list like Guilty Gear so I just wanted to be able to bott my retail games.

I ran this on my jtag formatted 500gb harddrive and it worked to fix Partition 2. However, it did not fix the problem I have of not being able to see Partition 3 in xplorer360 or Xport360. So I do not think it accomplishes what the other tutorial is supposed to.

Please, make the program to format all partitions. Then it would be really usefull.

BTW what is the function of the different partitions 0-3?

The only question this leaves is: "why use xport (corrupts stuff) or a hex edited xplorer, both of which use essentially hacked/reversed implementations of fatx drivers - when one can just use FTP and the native operating system that has the real native volume drivers?"

Go to the system tab, select memory devices, pick the drive you want to format, press the button that brings up properties, select format - this does all partitions except the compat partition.

Just to clarify, since it's not totally clear, is it safe to run this on a hard disk you're already using? I.e. will it do any damage to anything else on the disk, do I need to backup first?

Also, does the xbox's normal format option clear this partition, because I did a format on my original drive so I'm wondering if that would have removed the contents of this partition (and so do I need to go hunting elsewhere for these files).

I get a black screen trying to run this. Anybody else have this problem? Or does anybody know a fix for it?

I would also like to know this because I am not sure what my partition 2 looks like right now. Is there any way to see what partition 2 looks like from xexMenu?

I am still confused by this topic.

How do I know if I need to run this app. I have my original 20G HDD that I reformatted when I did my JTAG mod. There is a compatibility folder in my hddx: partition. I am running FSD 2.0. Can I simply replace those files with the venomous fire files to make everything copacetic?

I would like to run my original Halo 1/2 from my usb external (the goal).

never mind; I figured it out.

So much of the information out there is outdated - it is hard to sort through the chaff to find the kernels.

Since I have the latest Dashlaunch, and FSD, all I had to do was load the original, copy to my usb drive, and make sure my paths were correct.

hi all.....long time ago since read this thread, but noone answered it back when it was originally asked.

Can anyone confirm if this also creates a partition 0? As I'm sure if you use a nonofficial HDD then you have no cache partition 0 so could encounter other problems?
