Hello all, I wonder if you could help me.

I have a v1.4 xbox that I have successfully applied a winbond TSOP flash to with the Heimdall's excellent Hexen disc.
Everything is good and the machine boots up with the Evo X logo in the top left corner.

Should it now be possible to boot it up with the Hexen disc in the drive and no hdd attached?
Or boot it up with larger empty hdd attached and then format it through Hexen?

Because whenever I try I get the error code 13 or 14.

Thanks.

That's a dashboard error. Try this. Put your original hdd back on and boot it up. Set the clock. Turn off the xbox, put your new hdd in on cable select, insert hexen or slayers disc and you should be good to go. From my experience, some of the dvd drives struggle to read a copied cd, and samsung always seem to work without any problems. You can make pot adjustments on other drives to read copied discs.

Cheers.

Yeah, a dashboard error, so it is looking for the hdd first, which I thought it wouldn't after TSOP flashing it.
I'm using a SATA hdd, do you think the sata>ide connector might be the wrong type (no jumpers)?
Have ordered some other ones to try.

Received the new sata-ide converters (with master/slave jumpers) and it still doesn't work, with any of the three hard drives I try.
As the Xbox has been tsop modded it should be able to boot up with the hexen disc in and the new HDD attached, but it doesn't.
Grrr, stupid thing.
