Anyone else heard of this WiiXT chip? They make some tall claims, including region free AND homebrew, plus an embedded region free dvd player and ability to boot any VC game/ It has a 128MB firmware chip(?) and 512MB onboard storage. it's also a 4 wire install, and they say it's "no dvd drive" hack. Unfortunately, they bricked so many wiis designing the chip, they can't afford to go into production. While i would gladly see this chip happen, i have serious doubts. After their initial news release, alot of sites accused it of being fake. They have responded and said they aren't. Time will tell.....

That sounds extremely bogus. I bet they're just trying to get donations to get it produced, then take the money and run. And if the MB part was copy and paste, that's gotta be false. I don't think they'd be using a chip with half a gig of storage.

After seeing their site, it appears that they have plans of what they want to do, but I don't think they have a working prototype yet. I'd guess they are legitimately working on a chip, but it's very early in development and will probably never be completed to the specs they're listing now. That's how I take it..
