I've found VGA to DVI connectors online. I've got a TV that has a DVI input but doen't have a VGA input. I'm wondering if I can use a VGA to DVI cable and get my regular DVDs to upscale to 1080i. Since the player will not upscale DVDs unless it's through VGA, might this work. I already have the VGA adapter for my 360.

BTW: The HD-DVD player works like a charm. I used that $40 off coupon and got it for $160 at Circuit City. What a steal!

That all depends on which dvi connector ur tv has.

If your connector looks like either of the two on the left(DVD-I), then yes a simple adapter will work. But if it's one of the two on the right(DVI-D), then no it will not work. This is because DVI-D is digital, and DVD-I is analog and digital. Since VGA is analog it will only work on DVD-I. There is also DVI-A(only analog), but the chance that your tv has it is very slim. Hope that helped.
