Audio Question Please, <Music> Options

Hi,

I'm having a little trouble with the music in MXM. I have music in C:mysoundtrack but it seems all skins only play the track that was created first (earliest creation date/time) out of the list.

I have the <Random> tags and the <Global> tags set, and I tested it out by removing one track at a time. Still, the oldest track seems to only play.

Anyone have any ideas to what's happening?

Following up on my question, here are the Music snippets from the following files as I have them installed:

From MXM_Skin.xml:

<Music>
<Directory>C:mysoundtrack</Directory>
<PlayRandom>On</PlayRandom>
<PlayGlobal>On</PlayGlobal>
</Music>


From MXM.xml:

<Music>
<UseMusic>True</UseMusic>
<Directory>C:mysoundtrack</Directory>
<Global>True</Global>
<Random>True</Random>
</Music>



Still, the only track that plays is the one which was created first in C:mysoundtrack.

Any ideas?

Most music settings are done from the config menu (accessed with the "Y" gamepad button) now. These settigns override everything else.

I've set all the Music Settings from within MXM:

Enable Music: Yes
Music During Vid: No
Random Music: Yes
Global Music: Yes
Preview Audio: Default

I've restarted the machine, but still, the same track plays over and over. I've also flushed the cache with the same result.

If I remove the track that keeps playing, the next track in line by creation time/date plays over and over.

Dunno... I keep making adjustments to the soundtrack stuff, though, and it's due for a revamp (hint: might be adding MP3 support).

Random play technically does a "shuffle" - it re-orders the internal playlist at the start of each cycle. It seems to work fine on my dev box, but I'll pay more attention to it tonight. It might be a random number generation issue....

Ah yes MP3 support would ROCK! i can't believe all the awesome stuff you add to this on a constant basis and the requests you take and THEN add in, this is definitely the best dash hands down, thanks a bunch BenJeremy
