I got my coolrunner chip all wired up and the console will not boot (black screen, 3 RROD after a while) with the wire going to the cpu bypass, even if that wire is not connected to the chip. I tried a new wire and the same thing, checked for any solder was touching the surrounding area, at first it was and I cleaned and redid it. I remove the wire and boots up fine, both chip on or off.

Should I remove the cpu heatsink and try using the other cpu pll bypass point or have I caused some damage when I bridged that point to the resister right above it?

All I can say is 9 out of 10 issues are soldering-related... I would check each and every point with a magnifying glass and make for damn sure nothing is out of the ordinary...

Thanks for your reply.

I removed all the wires and chip and it works fine, with a wire going to that cpu pll there is no boot.
Nothing is touching so I don't know, tested with a voltmeter.

You did flash the chip right? Also, when you turn it on with it all wired up, does the LED on the chip turn on? Do you hear the Xbox spin up and down? Do the LED's on the chip turn from red to green, and then back to red at all?

Correct, I did not read or flash the nand but I did flash the chip.
The biggest issue is that if anything is soldered to that point the xbox will not boot.

I believe I have never had an issue booting stock with the chip on..
But the problem here and I'm not sure if anyone knows I just have a wire going to that point not touching anything or connecting back to the chip and the console will not boot until that wire is removed.
