Afaik, there is no tut for it, but it's simple. Take out mobo. Cut metal casing. File edges to get it nice and smooth. Put mobo back in.

I just noticed there are screws on the bottom of the Xclamp window part... what do those screws screw onto?

I am probably going to replace the TIM (with Artic Silver) and remove the window on the bottom of the Xclamps, but keep the Xclamps.

those screws are the long ones and hold the top (plastic part) of the outer case onto the cage.

the other small screws around the edge of the cage hold the motherboard into the cage.

the 8 small black ones in the middle are for the x-clamps/heatsinks, but you already know that.

ok thanks for clearing that up. one last question, i saw in grim d's orange 360 thread that he had a problem after doing the window mod. the 360 would over heat and he had to use washers to solve the problem. this is the 360 im talking about http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...212&st=105# . did any one else have the same problem? if its not too much trouble could someone do a basic drawing in paint showing where its recommended to make the cut?

thanks

just do the cut on the inside of that square thing that has the 8 black screws and the xs. just cut maybe 1 cm inside it. you dont have to mayke ur 360 case window that big but it makes it so that u dont c metal through the window

you should do the x-clamp replacement unless you want them there, if you replace them you are less likely to get the 3rod, and then you wont have to worry about the x-clamps not being secured to the metal

those screws help hold the mobo to the tray. once you cut the tray the xclamps will still be secured to the mobo just fine.

i believe grim_d stated the reason he used washers was because the heat sink was not as tight as possible to the board (which gave him overheating lights).
