I knew this would happen to one store, with so many orders and everything.

I have been Sh*t on from a great height by Amazon. First off after placing a pre order for 2 systems, one for me one for a friend, I get an email on the supposed day of delivery that I will only get one. They then changed the date to 2-3rd Dec. Which I thought was fair. So I sent an email to confirm. They sent back saying 'Heres a tenner hope all ok....oh by the way sorry'.
So the next day I called them to check. Oh sorry we can do nothing. I have been told that I shud get mine b4 xmas but no guarantee.
I pre ordered 1 sept. The info about the warehouses now makes sense.

The most annoying thing is I have a core system sat here begging to be played. I managed to get it for my mate for xmas. It's killing me having it here and not being able to play.

Does anyone know when M$ are shipping more to Amazon? They don’t seem to know.

Stop trying to stir it further. There are at least 2 quoted apologies in that article. Obviously they are sorry they will lose many customers over this. Don't get me wrong I don't agree with what they have done but they are not the only ones and trust me they are certainly regretting it.
The best anyone can expect is that lessons are learned from all this fiasco to prevent it happening again.
if they have no consoles then they have no consoles nothing at this point is going to change that.

Sorry mate but in my book 2 forced apologies and a 10 squid voucher is nowhere near enough for them to be classed as truely 'sorry'. They have communicated fuck all to their loyal customers and this quote really takes the biscuit :

QUOTE

"We can either give customers a 10 pounds gift certificate or they can cancel their order."

In otherwords 'heres a meager voucher, if you dont like it fuck off and get your 360 elsewhere'!

So what realistically are you expecting them to do?
Don't say "send me a 360" its not possible.
What i am trying to say is what should they do that would satisfy the customers who have been left with no console? What would be adequate in terms of compensation.

Well for a start they could be more open and honest about their cock-up instead of trying to put all the blame on M$ with their standard emails. The communication between Amazon and their customers has been dreadful. Each time I approached them they always sent out the same standard email blaming supply problems blah blah blah. At no point did they mention the warehouse cock up until yesterday and that had to be dragged out of them. As for adequate compensation I dont know however I do know that when my mate ordered his PSP online (not Amazon) because of supply problems he received his machine a week later PLUS a game of his choosing.

I think no matter how open they suddenly become is not going to comfort people who don't have the console they expected. People are not really interested in words and the console for next week is an unrealistic expectation. What you have to decide on is what you believe will adequately compensate you (make you want to keep your order with them), obviously its not a £10 voucher.
If its a freebie of some sort then you need to put this to Amazon and see what the response is, because the simple fact is no matter how much everyone rages its not going to change facts, so you need to settle on a deal that makes it worth waiting in my opinion. What that is will vary between customers.
A polite positive approach stating your expectations is likely to gain more satisfaction than ranting and raving down the phone or whatever, plus if you ring and rant you are only ranting at a guy who is the puppet not the puppet master.

Chancer, do you have your 360?

mmm.

You take me wrong, I only aim to inform. I found the article and felt a little relieved but also disappointed that Amazon couldn't inform there customers. I also wanted to give them a place to vent there frustration.

I was left in the dark like many others, what annoys me more is that many kids are gonna miss out at xmas due to this cock-up. I have accepted my loss for the mo but 10 year old kids don’t always find it that easy on xmas morning.

Again my intension wasn’t to aggravate and annoy anyone.

FFS like I dont know all that already? rolleyes.gif I posted the original report in this thread for the benefit of providing other dissatisfied customers the information that Amazon FAILED TO TELL their loyal customers. Amazon didnt email me this information nor freely offer it, I had to find it myself. Now how is that for customer care when they have kept everyone in the dark for days.

Not yet No.
The point I am trying to make is that all you end up doing over situations like this is raising your blood pressure to no gain.
Not one of you has answered the point I made in the last post.
What is adequate compensation in your opinion?
I would have contacted them with something along the lines of a heavy discount on the package or a free game and free accessory (controller, cable whatever) That way you get extra from them and can put it to the back of your mind. if they don't play ball take your deposit back and never shop with them again.
If they are not giving you something really worthwhile to make you wait, why even bother with petitions and slagging them. Take your business for every purchase elsewhere.
You lose nothing by cancelling your pre-order, because when they get them back in stock everywhere else will have them.
