well it all strted when i noticed the color was a little off in the game i was playing, a a green tint to it, so i shut off the console and rebooted, only to find im getting audio but the video is white dots all over the screen, so i let it cool down a bit in hopes that would fix it, and it did, then next reboot same dots, so i looked into the x clamp fix and did that myself makeing sure to follow the instructions carefully got it all back together and it worked the first time, still with greenish tint on screen, next reboot dots =( so is this still an overheating issue or is my video card crapped out?
Update: if i wait five minutes and turn the console back on then its works with the color the way it should be but after 20 seconds or so i can see the color switch to a greenish tint, dont know if that has any thing to do with my problem

after taping an insulating, i used the heatgun at 200f to warm the board up for 1-2 min, then i set to 600f and held about 1-2 inches away from board going in a circular motion all around the exposed areas of the board for about 3 min, the one thing i dont understand is what is supposed to have the yellowish tint? i really dont know what to look for when i have done it for long enough

yepp, works for 99% of the 360s usually. Your timing isnt perfect though and the temps arent either. The preheating should happen at 300°C~500°F for 1 minute and the second step should be like 500°C~900°F for 4 minutes... Otherwise it can happen that it doesnt reflow properly and the yellowish color thingy is kind of outdated, just keep the timings exactly... well i found out what my problem was, my x clamp fix, the washers i was using were to thick, .060, and that was causing my heatsinks to not fully contact my ships, so i replaced them with .030 washers and now my heatsinks are doing there job, all has been well since, no red lights, no dots, i will keep you updated should anything happen. thank you all for the help!!!!

couldnt find the fiber washers at lowes, got them at true value, the way i did it but i know its not recommended was a fiber and steel washer on the bottom of board and just a single steel washer between the heatsink and the mobo, like i said not cecommended due to the steel contacting the mobo, but it worked for me, just diddnt over tighten it, for the official thread try, http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=595746
