Banned From Xbox Live With Mooded Xbox...strange...?, Did nothing out of the ordinary. Not sure why I was banned this time Options

I have an xecuter modded xbox and have been using xbox live for over 12 months without any problems by starting the xbox up from the original dashboard, but yesterday I was banned, and I did nothing nothing different to normal.

Just wondering if anybody else has had the same problem?

Are you suuuuuuuuuuure you didnt do anything out of the ordinary? And are you suuuure your banned? Perhaps your internet isnt working therefore not allowing you to connect?

Just asking the dumb questions first. You dont get banned for no reason.

Yeah I have just had the exact same problem. I have an online friend who works for MS's xbox division, and he told me that MS has been testing a new detection protocol for the last 4 months than that detect a modded xbox, even when an xbox is booted up from the original dashboard. It looks like the testing period is over, and it is actually in operation now.

I'm not sure if there is a workaround, to get my xbox working on live again. If anybody knows more, please post some info.

Yep. same problem here, and 2 of my friends have just been banned as well under the exact same circumstances described by frustrated gamer. Looks like I'm off to buy a new xbox to keep for online usage. Hey where can I buy a new EEPROM? Anyone know?

Some kind folks in BST have them. You should post your chip and config, everybody, to try and figure out some overlaps or patterns.

hmmm... wuts with all these new posters... joined a couple days ago... anyways i got banned under the same circumstances a few weeks ago... i think that it might be that when you're playing your games online ppl are leaving u negative feedback, which gets ur gamertag flagged and xbox live sees ur hard drive's new serial number... any flaws in this logic...?

Is there anybody out there that has a modchip installed and did not change out their hard drive? If this new wave of bannings is part of the marraige problem, then this would let us know. Two of my friends have been banned, but mine seems to still be working fine.

The last box I chipped, the person got banned. I did a new eeprom and a new hd at the same time and they got banned. They brought it back to me, I thought maybe I didn't put a XBox live blocking Bios on, so I redid the bios, redid the eeprom, swapped for a new hd that had never been on live. Gave it back. Two days later, he was banned again. Did a new eeprom and hd again, banned again. Told him to buy a second XBox for live only. lol.

Are you guys doing the stealth installation of dashboards & apps?

If you don't know what that is... it's putting everything in the F or G partition so that the C and E drives consist of only stock M$ files. I've been doing stealth installs like this for over a year and I still haven't heard any complaints from my customers.

Just an update for you all. More of my friends have now been banned.

I had a new EEPROM put in my xbox and it's all working again. I'll let you know if anything changes.

Aren't you supposed to get a new gamertag along with the new eeprom and hd as well?? maybe thats why he was banned a second time.

His GT was flagged from the previous bans so he can only use a stock hdd or he'd get banned again.

I'm a little afraid to test, but i'm sure that my friends xbox still runs fine even though it is softmodded. I no longer have my Live only xbox unfortunately, so I might have to start using my 360 for live.

I'll definitely reply if I do hop on live anytime soon, because I've been running a X2 Pro modded box with a stock C drive (at least), E has a handful of things including saves for emulators ect., F is main partition for all homebrew stuff.

I am using a locked (obviously) 120 gig hdd, and the last time I played on live was probably a month or two ago, no problems at that point.

I know its different than most of your guy's situations, but I have a Xbox softmodded with the Ndure 3.0 package and I have not been banned nor had any problems. I also have a stock HDD still though....
