error 16 refers to the time/date not being set when your Xbox boots up. Just boot into the MS Dash and set the time/date and your all set. If you are booting with a unlocked hard drive then temporary connect your stock hard drive back so you can boot into the MS Dash, set the time/date and then swap your unlocked hard drive back. smile.gif

I have the same error, But my old retail HDD is rooted. Is there any possible remedy?

Thanks for all your help. I simply took a shot in the dark and set the Matrix to mode 4 slapped in the CD and bam! the blue X came up so set it back to mode 2 went in the settings and coorected the time and now everything is working just fine. Cept' for the ftp connection problems I'm currently having. I'll figure it all out sooner or later its just a matter of time. biggrin.gif

I tried booting in mode 4 but still no go. My Code 16 is only coming up with half the screen (if that means anything)
If anybody has any ideas let me know.
