Right, so, I have a Hitachi v47 with Ixtreme 1.51 on it and trying to update to LT. I'm using Windows 7 32bit with port IO installed. Plug in the Hitachi, boot up PC. BIOS see's hitachi. Windows loads, no hitachi. Scanning for hardware changes comes up empty, device manager doesn't show any optical drives (disconnected them all except Hitachi). Updated a Benq drive a couple weeks back without issue, no changes on PC since so I can't figure out why Windows won't see the drive.

Any ideas?

What chipset is being used?
Make sure the VIA checkbox is not checked.

You have to put the drive in mode b before windows will reconize it! You can do it two ways use jungleflasher or use the slax cd put in mode b then boot windows.

or of course if you have a ck3 pro or simliar that will work to put it in mode b

Thanks guys, been awhile since I did a Hitachi. I'll try using slax to put it in mode b before booting to windows.

And just as kind of a side note none of my drives ever show up in windows (win 7 32 bit). They just show some cursory information in the left side of the window, then when I press the mode b button more info will show but still nothing in windows. I am able to do everything I need to though.
