I just installed a xecuter 2.1 Lite in my v1.0 xbox along with a Maxtor 120 GB drive (model#L01P120) and everything appears to fine when I boot up with the chip enabled.

If I boot up with the chip disabled and no game in the DVD drive (thompson) I get the "Xbox needs service. Please contact customer support screen".

If I boot up with the chip disabled and a game in the drive it apears to work fine.

Any insight into this issue would be appreciated.

1) Did you lock your hard drive? (You should...)

2) If not a locking issue, perhaps a dashboard naming issue...?
