I was wondering if it's possible to spoof a BENQ drive to act like a Lite-On Philips?

Is it just a matter of injecting the BENQ firmware with the key from the lite on or is there more to it?

The console is already banned so there is no worry there.

I guess my topic title was a little off...all that was needed was the dvd key from the failed lite on drive I injected that into the BENQ firmware and wrote it to the drive. Has full support of XGD3 games and appears to be working without issues.

might be bad for live and get you flagged. Also might have problem doing dash updates so keep your original drive so you can do the updates for dashboards

Oh yea didn't see that it was banned.

If you arent past dash version 14719, 14699 or less is best for phats you should look into RGHing it.
