Acctually the way the 360 sales are going it looks like it won't acctually do much more then its predecessor. Maybe 35-40mil by 2011

The Wii will sell like crazy for three years ending up doing 50mil until 2010 before dying abruptly, and will be discontinued by fall 2010. Due to outdated hardware.

The ps3 will slowly tick along doing 25 mil by 2010 and 40 by 2012.

Most of the previous casual owners will all have left the console market for handhelds. And the nds will be at 100 mil by 2010 (they are producing 30mil a year) and a new handheld has emerged and are selling very well already boosting 30mil by 2010.

Aaah feels nice to tap into the future... tongue.gif

QUOTE(nwo504 @ Jan 2 2007, 04:40 PM) *

barely outselling a system that has shortages is not really good news.

you know what makes ur statement ridiculous? Is the fact that new console sales are usually at their highest when they just launch. This is when ppl are most interested in the wii (cause its the christmas phenomenon) but a system stale in comparison like the 360 still manages to outsell it.

games sell the system and neither the wii nor ps3 has that

its already outdated.....doesn't matter anyway as long as the games dont feel outdated (like zelda tongue.gif ph34r.gif ).

the zelda thing was just a joke.....hope I didn't hurt any feelings

New systems always sell well so what is your point exactly? The 360 has been out for over a year and those are good sales figures. I don't think it's possible for the Ps3 to catch the Xbox US and Worldwide sales.
Wii sales will begin to drop so much in the upcoming months. People will get tired of it and the poor graphics will just get really old. That's just my opinion.

ps2 has been out foe 6 years and it still outsells 360 ps3 and wii

Hey,

We have the WII. My wife who is NOT much of a gamer is always down there bowling and asking anyone who is around to play. My son loves the WII he is playing the sports package and Zelda when the wife is not on it.

Which leaves more time for me on the 360. biggrin.gif

Just one Question:
I'm not from USA, so i do not know the situation in US stores. Did you have to a chance to get a PS3 if you wanted one, lets say the last week before christmas or did Sony sell everything they could deliver?
Here in Germany, you could easily buy a 360 on Saturday 23. December (but no WII, for example, PS3 is not out here).
So i dont't know who is the 'real' winner in 2006.

I have seen WII on the shelves once since launch day, and I am kicking myself for not buying several of them when I had the chance. They had probably 8 - 10 of them at Shopko one night. When I went back the next morning to try and pick up a couple they were gone.
mad.gif

I have never seen a PS3 on any self. Do they really exist?

No, because many people bought multiple PS3s and got stuck with them because nobody wanted one.

BTW... anyone want to buy a PS3?

i dont know how you guys can use "they dont have any games" as an argument. Oh course thats true, the 360 has been out for a year. When the 360 came out it had no games too. ANd there are still problems with the Madden releases, the xbox version is better. What the hell is that.

Anyway, i hate sony but i dont think it is fair to make arguments that dont make sense

Only a few of us will buy a PS3 without there being something like XBMC running on it.

I really find it hard to belive that 750,000 people are playing a console that has what, 2 games on it, sucks to be them.

I think the PS3 is going to be hurt by the price more than anything. Yes I know it is not that much more expensive and for what you get it, hardware wise, it is not a bad deal.

I think Sony misjudged their base. I would be that the majority of gamers are between 11-16, so they probably do not have jobs. If they saved up for a system, it would probably be a cheaper one. If there parents go out and buy a system when they have three choices, they will choose the medium priced one or the cheapest one.

I have seen PS3's at bestbuy twice, and once at walmart. I have yet to see a Wii.
I really want a wii becuase of zelda and mario.

but thats just me.

Xbox 360 actually had good launch titles. PGR3, PDZ, Madden06.

About the 360 didn't have good titles when it launched, I bought the COD2 and PGR3 BEFORE the system came out and got 100% thrilled with both when I got the system 3 days later.

Right after I bought the system, next day I went to EB games and got PDZ and NFSMW, went to blockbuster and rented Kameo (rent? Yes, my money is not infinite, you know?), signed for gamefly and got Condemned and GUN and couldn't be more happy with all of them, except for GUN, that was 100% same looks as Xbox version.

Are those games the pinnacle of next gen and/or better than what PS3 has on it's launch? Definetelly NO.

Were those games WAY ABOVE of everything else on the game stores at that time? Definetelly YES.

That's one of the advantages of finishing your homework a year earlier than everybody else like M$ did: It's easy to get the "prettiest games availiable on the market" top of mind on the consumer.

And that trouphy is a very valuable on this war.

So important that I believe that if PS3 came out together with Xbox 360 showing the same launch lineup (genji, RR7, RFOM, etc), the 360 wouldn't have sold even 6 millions in a year.

But the PS2 was turning out profit and Sony sleeping.gif on it's job.

I've seen 5 or more ps3's on shelves at Walmart and no Wii's and 1-2 Xbox 360's

i think the ps3 appeal is starting to die all my friends are saying its too expensive and will just keep their ps2's if games continue to come out. Sony should have cut back on support for the ps2 to help push ps3 sales.

There have been reports of many people walking into Best Buys, Wallmarts ETC and seeing upwards of 20 PS3s just sitting there with no one buying them. Down here in New Zealand the PS3 has been announced to have a price point of $1300 while the Wii is $500 the Core 360 is $450 and the premium is $650 and the premium with an HD-DVD drive is $1000. I dont see the PS3 selling any here and those who buy it obviously have money to throw away.

All the posts like these makes me wish I lived in the middle of nowhere too.. dry.gif

I can't wait to have a PS3 sitting right next to my 360 w/HD-DVD addon.

What format war?
What console war?

I live in the SF bay area and there are PS3's all over the place. Also you can go on e-bay and get one for list or below all day long. At my local game stop there have been several returns on PS3's because so many people baught them to sell and when they couldn't they came right back to the store.

Wii's on the other hand sell out instantaniusly everyware, the last shipment before christmas there were people lining up before stores opened to get the Wii.

It seems at least in my neck of the woods the PS3 is gettting destroyed, and badly.

T Ghost - I agree with your last post 110%.

MS launched the Xbox 1 year after Sony...and they vowed that next time around, they would beat the Playstaion to the market. And the 360 did indeed beat the PS3 to the market by a full year...It really goes to show what that 1 year jump can do.
