interesting,i thinking of buying just the board and making my own spear tool to use with this board.
Can you tell me where the
A RS232 to TTL adapter solders to the board, which terminals in the TTL adaptor goes to which solder points on the back of the board and which terminal is the spear point?

It looks only three soldered points from the ttl adaptor go to either the board or spear,2 for board and 1 for spear so where do the other three soldered in the adaptor go?

thanks for this

sorry!

here you go:

IPB Image

The middle 2 pins of the molex are ground. The other one is +3.3, from the voltage regulator on the other side.

where do these go to in the the ttl adaptor?
im going to buying one of these which is labelled up
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MAX232-RS232-to-TTL-...bayphotohosting

are the other three cables in the r232 adaptor just cut further down the cable??

looks likes just the molex ground and 3.3v is soldered under board and spear cable for reading drive, other three are cut further down the cable and are not used

I also live in CA, made a order on the 9th and got it today 13th. Part of the eject casing was broken but nothing some crazy glue wouldn't fix. I'm waiting for something else in the mail but when I get it I'll attempt to do this and post back the results if any one is interested, will probably be next week.

Sorry meant 10$ more than this...

Not exactly. The DIY gadget one with the usb to serial adapter is $45.98 with free shipping to USA and Canada. Which is like the Connectivity Kit V3 PRO with the Spear which is like $64.98 without shipping. That is $19 difference + shipping. The DIY one also seem cheaply made without a power switch so idk if these will last long. But for people who dont want to solder or make their own spear and will probably use it on 1-3 drives and may need a Hard drive adapter, they should get the DIY one. But of course its your decision to get a better looking quality one and if you live in usa/canada...

Has anyone in the UK recieved theirs yet? Mine was posted just under a week ago. I have no tracking number either. I know $4 postage isn't going to be the best...but I want it before Xmas or at least some warning!
