I don't know what chip this is but I had a friend come to me for a problem and the xbox just kept starting, stopping, starting, stopping then just a black screen

He asked me to take the chip out and so I did that but now when I boot up I get a Error Code 16

16 - dashboard - Other files to do with dashboard / dashboard settings (specific dashboard error)

Now since I don't have the xbox chipped what can I do to have the dashboard but back to normal?

set the clock in ms dash and if that doesn't work reinstall the dash and make sure that the clock is set right if u hav it unpluged for more than 24hr

oh and u'll need to b able to boot so put the mod back in

I took out the mod chip and I have no idea on how to put it back in and even with it in I got a black screen and the drive won't open, and I get a black screen

So I think the mod chip is screwed.

I took the HDD out and put it in my xbox and I am getting an error code 6
6 - kernel - Cannot unlock HDD

I am hoping to format the drive and reinstall the OS alone.
