I am currently running LT 1.1 and have not taken my xbox on xbox live since before the may update as I have been waiting to get my xbox modded from the guy who did it in the past. He has basically ignored me and I finally got a hold of him right before 2.0 was released but have had no such luck since.

I have a zip file with my original firmware on it. I am curious is it safe for me to just update my firmware via XBL and have it rewrite my firmware with stock so i can atleast play on live again? i have been offline with my xbox for almost 6 months.

And if the guy ever decides to come around and answer me again he can update me to LT 2.0 no problem as long as i have my original firmware right?

u can do it but its always recommended that u flash back to stock before and update.
what dashboard is you're Xbox on?
