I would be perfectly fine with just disabling the tilt and use only the back button. I see the IC5 chip. What can I do to disable it?
Take NOTE: After doing this on my LesPaul the thing wouldn't revert back to normal operation (the tilt function) even though everything is still working properly, though that problem could very well be something that just happened at the same time elsewhere on the controller sicne I've done some extensive soldering on this one to see about getting the PnC kit working with it (it doesn't so don't ask). This mod has nothing to do with breaking anything, just changing the sensitivity of the Accelerometer is all, but be warned it very well may kill the tilt function completely for reasons I've yet to figure out, so if yer after being able to turn it back to 'normal' operation be warned, but if yer after disabling it and don't care then it's not going to make a lick of difference anyway.
There is a Resistor right above IC5, and an open spot next to it where another one could be installed but isn't. The best way to 'disable' it is to remove this Resistor and then jumper the other spots or just move that Resistor over to those spots instead.
Remove this Resistor first.

Reinstall the Resistor or jumper these spots.

These 2 Resistors are what control the sensitivity of the Accelerometer. It's default set to 1.5g but by removing the Resistor and placing it in the other spot tat sets it to 6g, way higher than you'll ever be able to set it off without really going off on the thing, so it's essentially disabled but ya can return it to normal operation if ya ever felt like it.
If ya are so inclined you can install a switch to change the sensitivity between 1.5g and 6g also so it can be done easily whenever ya feel like.
First remove this Resistor.

Then wire up a SPDT switch to these spots.

Switch in one position the Guitar works like normal, flip the switch and for all intensive purposes the tilt function is disabled since it's sensitivity is set 4 times higher than normal.
NOTE: If ya remove the Resistor and leave both spots open the Guitar will stay set to the default (normal operation) 1.5g setting, so it's not even a part that really needs to be there, but MUST be removed if ya plan to set it to the 6g setting. This post has been edited by RDC: Mar 22 2008, 02:48 PM
