I was hoping not to go with an xtender cause they're so ugly. I don't need much, but a little extra headroom would be nice. I'm going to be cramming a Mini itx board in and an old Shuttle SFF power supply, and was thinking of a mini water cooling setup with a @x40mm radiator and a small pump and resovoir. Another reason is I want guaranteed clearence for the video card to fit. Thanks.

hah, i know the xtenders are not the most beautiful looking things out there tongue.gif

this might help, if you havent seen it already:

though he already had a dev kit to start with, i think he raised the height on top of that, so you could look into how he did it. you could probably also trim and xtender, only as dev. boxes would be quite the rarity these days

I was looking for that link for ages yesterday.

I would grab a couple of cases and some ABS cement, and build my own extended case. To make life significantly easier, I would use the same method he did to replace the grills on it, so I don't have to dick around with making those taller too.

Alternatively, I have a dev kit I could let go of for the right price. It needs a little bit of work, but as long as you aren't wanting to keep it clear, it could do quite nicely. PM me if you want more info.

The OS Xbox Pro was actually my total inspiration for this build lol. I want to do the same thing to the sides too (not to be a copy cat) cause I hate the "fins" on the side of the xbox. I was alos thinking of glueing cases together last night, since broken ones are so easy to come by on ebay for cheap. Ttsgeb, expect a pm.

What about using the xtender lid but shortening it to suit ?
