In the short term, I find PC's to be more 'worth it' dollar for dollar (not talking overall price here, but VALUE) but in the long run, a console beats out a PC's needed upgrades, possible service (if you dont do that kind of thing yourself) etc etc.
I'll stick with PC's though, aside from Kingdom Hearts 2, I just dont like consoles anymroe >.<
(Yeah, I know, "but your on an xbox forum", whatever)

I'm a big console gamer, not a big fan of PC games for some reason. I think the last PC game I owned was Need for Speed High Stakes. I've played WoW with my friend once. It was cool, but nothing I would do. I think, for me atleast, that PC gaming would be cheaper. I already have a high end computer that can run pretty much most games out there. So no upgrades in that area necessary, and games are pretty cheap if you keep your eyes open. But with the 360, I'll keep buying accessories. You need controllers, batteries, headsets, remotes, harddrives, the list goes on.

QUOTE(lordvader129 @ Apr 30 2006, 04:22 AM) i pla most of my games on console (with the exception of rts) With the inclusion of a few games (e.g., Red Faction, Sacred, Silent Storm, and some others I can't remember), I'm the same way. I love RTS games to death, but I can't stand playing them on a console. It's the same as with the aforementioned games: I need to play RTS games on a PC. For everything else, I pretty much stick with consoles. I love the comfort of playing from the couch, and with the advent of a near-perfect wireless controller thanks to MS, the experience became much more enjoyable. I'll admit, though, that having a modded Xbox spoiled me. I'll play San Andreas from the disc, and it takes a good amount of time to load, but when I rip it to my hard drive, load times are damn near non-existent. That's one thing I do appreciate about PC games: they load fast after they've been installed. Fortunately for me, I'm not a graphics whore. I don't mind aliasing or the inferior graphic quality of some console games versus their PC counterparts. I like the comfort of picking a game up and playing it without the need to install it or even upgrade my components. The price difference definitely plays a factor in my choice of playing console games over PC games. This post has been edited by metaldevil: May 5 2006, 05:51 PM

PC disc load times aren't that bad for me. Rise of Nations and Tiberian Sun load quickly enough. I'm usually too lazy to make an image of a disc then mount it anyway. I like to get into the game as soon as it's installed. Console load times irritate me, though. If it weren't so costly, I'd like to see games load from a catridge like the old days. Yeah, Total Annihilation brings back memories. I haven't heard that game mentioned in years. Speaking of old PC games, have you ever played Tongue of the Fatman? It didn't have a big following, but I loved that game. QUOTE(throwingks @ May 5 2006, 01:29 PM) Shoot, did you play Half-life 2 on the PC? Load times... I cooked and ate a 7 course meal on one of them. No, I've never played it, but I've heard nothing but great things about it, though. This post has been edited by metaldevil: May 5 2006, 07:08 PM
