Gamestop Acting Like Big Brother?, after searching Man. dates for sammy Options

so i walk in with the chart of the dates for various xbox models looking for a 1.1 xbox to get a sammy.. and to soft mod... and manager goof at gamestop says "why so picky, you going to mod it" and i was like.. "no, just looking for a sammy drive" and dude had no clue what i was talking about and says again... "you are modding it" and im like "yea dude.. im figgen modding it" -sarcastically.

so dude says "well then... i cant help you find an xbox without reporting you or i get fired" and i almost lost it due to this cats ignorance...but instead stated that for one i wasnt modding it.. and for two that if i was modding it, that it is none of his concern.

already had a form filled out for some trade ins...so when he said "report" i scratched my name out of the slip.. took my games back and told him i dont need harrassed spending $130 bucks in his store and went to babbages (after having him call babbages to check their manufacture dates)... also owned by gamestop, but friendlier service..

they said how big a dick the guy is.. and tempted me to call the district manager to get him in trouble because the guy thinks he is a hard ass... i let it slide...

only thing is... who the fuck is he suppose to "report" me to? how is it any of their business if i am modding it or not, and if i am, he cant help me find a box?

i dont get it... gamestop just lost a customer tho...even if i still shop at babbages, i mean hell.. ive been buying games from them since NES.

hehe, I feel your pain, I got into a fight once with an EBGames employee. Mind you, it was verbal, few swares. He kept referring to me as YOU GUYS (modders) and saying that the price of video games are so high because of US. I told him it had nothing to do with 'US' and then he wouldn't sell my a psp...which was weird because a psp has nothing to do with an xbox. i hate people who think they know everything. i know for a fact i know more than about video games than most of the employees at those damn stores.

The guy is a arce, about the only thing I could think of is that he could drop the info to piracy@micr osoft.com / (800) RU-LEGIT since I belive technicly the soft mods contain some MS code(I could be wrong since I didn't pay attention to the soft mods). Mind you they would likely laugh at the twit.
Funny thing is, normaly that type of guy is the one that mods his own systems. Heck I remeber hearing about a guy like that in the PS1 days, he hid the older models so that way at work so he could mod them himself for profit. Mind you thats from ages ago.

yeah, it was no big deal.. just more of a pain than anything...at least i pulled a 1.1 with a samsung dvd drive and a seagate hard drive out of the deal... after trade ins cost me 114 with tax, and the only real reason i got it was to mod it as a dvd player for my neice... and of course the standard issue emulators, she loves it.

You should have just asked for the manager and when he comes up say

I was just about to spend over $100 at your shop but I think I'll bring my business elsewhere since your employee is harrasing me and making offensive false allegations about me and refusing to sell me your merchandise.

That would have got him fired for sure, they can replace their employees within hours and it's no skin off their nose to hire another guy to stock shelves, especially if the guy is loosing customers.

mod chips are loaded with a cromwell bios which is 100% legal. its the just the software you flash it with is illegal. but how would they know your gonna modchip it to run illegal apps? maybe you could just be doing case mods to it? once again, how would the gamestop guy know what your doing? what a wanker

iv been to many gamestops and none has ever said that. i have even bragged abought my modded system and there lile cool man. of course i walk out with new games and shit at the same time so they cant go your modding to piret arnt you. i would look at the poor fool with your a stupid bitch see this stack of games i just bought. i modded my system for well its just frigen cool to do not to metion all the emus an dhombrew and linux. sorry not all moddrers piret and even if they do its not on alarge scale couse of xbox live. even pirets have to buy livegames if they wanna play on-line.

the guy you ran acroos ovalsy didntnt knoe shit abought xbox modding and probly beleves every word those pricy hotlines say. i would told him to bite my ass. gamestop doesent support modding or pricy. pricy and modding are 2 diffrent worlds. if they supported modding they would sell dreamx xboxes lol.

of course the guy had no right even asking you going to do with your system or why you where looking for a certen model. i mean even if it weas a new 1.6 you could mod it once again proving he didnt knoe shit. even if he asked you no matter what you said he has no rigt to object couse there not in the busness of stoping modders there n the busness of getting you to walk out that door with there items for sale. in fact with xbox mods being legile off the shelf noone is in that busness.

your a nice guy i would say that. i would relly whent off on him and would got him fired. or at least yelled at depending on his managers ass to frendly level lol. if his manager was a prick that guy woulda been toast(burnt toast). as one guy said gamestop empolyees are abought as hard to find as mcdonalds empolyees everyone has worked ther at least once lol and probly quit or get fired just as fast.

whats funny mcdonalds is probly the highest paying fast job lol. no joke working at mcdonalds makes more then a gamestop employee. fast food fast jobs cant beat em i guess.

i work at pizza hut have been sence i was 16. its fucking sad to see some punk at a drivethrew window making more then me. cheap fucking basterds.
