Guys,

This was my last work regarding XBMC Gui.
I loved the xTV simplicity, but I was annoyed with some stuff I did no like,
for example - the selection bar. I hate the original Apple bar.
And also some other minor things.

Here is my ultimate skin.
The definitive.

And, one of the emulators in perfect style sync with the dash.
I did take a picture with my camera, because there is no way
to get shots from the Xport emus gui on the fly.

Nice work man Cospefogo.

Is that skin your own creation? I know you're quite good with the electric paintbrush.

How did you get XBMC to show this icon view?

IPB Image

EDIT: Madmab showed me a beta earlier today that takes the load time for NES from 14.5 seconds down to 8 seconds when loading .CUT files from XBMC. So far it eliminates most of the splash screens as well. He had to remove the network capability from the auto-load from .CUT files to eliminate a lot of the loading time, but it still works fine if you use it by loading games from within the emulator. Still some kinks to work out, but with this we will be able to load games straight from XBMC with an 8 second load time and a 6 second release time.

Any way you know, or is there anybody you know who could insert some functionality in XBMC that would tell XBMC to start you back at the .CUT folder you loaded the game from? Then it would totally be like you were loading all your games straight from XBMC.

I did modify the tradiotional xTV skin.
I just removes some logos, replaced some icons, eradicated the original selection bar, things like that.

And, this view is present in all XBMC releases since 2008!
Check your XBMC, dude.
It is in the VIEW options for each section.

Coverflow view... Wrap view...
Don't remeber exactly the name, but it is there.
I am 100% sure. Together with Wide, BugWide, List, List2 etc etc.

LOL... I just got a new one when I wanted the Big Wide icons! Did I get an old-new one?

What version would you recommend? I don't know a thing about compiling XBMC, and I believe I have the newest one available at the usual place.

Rex,

Just get *any* new one.
Simple as put butter on a slice of bread!
Or too simple as listening to John Coltrane's A Love Supreme album.
Just do it.
(Says Nike...)

Ha ha ha!
Cospefogo.

PS. Remember to not overwrite your PROFILE files!
I recommend to keep your old XBMC still there renamed to something else.

My "old" XBMC isn't more than 2 months old. Is this new then?

Hey Rex,

Those views are there from a long time.
If you can't see them, I don't know what could be wrong.
Try doing a super clean install from a fresh version or even asking for help on the XBMC Dev forum.
For me, in all builds I did get in the past, switch to this view modes was super simply simple.
I just pick them!

Good luck!

Are all the XBMC related save files in the XBMC folder?

I'm going to try a fresh install.... even though it's a bit dangerous since XBMC is my dash.

Hey Rex,

You don't know how to have 2 XBMCs at same time?
When I move to a new one I NEVER, EVER, overwrite anything.

I just create a brand new folder like: NEW-XBMC, or XBMC2, or XBMC-TEST and upload the new files there.
THEN, ONLY THEN, I go to the directory using FILE MANAGER and run the new XBMC default.xbe file.

Then, only then, I check if everything is ok, if I like the new version, if there are bugs, etc etc.
And if everything is okay, I copy my USER FILES from the old one to the new one - I said: COPY, not move.

And, after that, I need to exit the XBMC to be able to "exchange" the folders names.
XBMC (the original) becomes XBMC-OLD, and the new one, becomes XBMC.

BUT --------- You can't do the renaming process with the XBMC running.
You should go to another app who has the file manager stuff, like DVD2XBOX.
Go there, rename the folder, and TRÁ-LÁ-LÁ

The XBMC is up to date and your old one is still, there, ON PERFECT operation.

SATAN, TAKE ME.
I am ready.

Cospefogo.

So are ALL of the configuration/saves/etc. for XBMC located within the XBMC folder?

I'm starting to think that my problem is I'm using new XBMCs but there are old settings somewhere that are keeping this from working right.

I've even acquired an updated .XBE that caches wide icons and is reported to have all the new icon views (that we've been talking about) and neither of those functions work for me.

Just wondering if there are XBMC settings hiding out somewhere in the game saves or the TDATA/UDATA? I've had a few years and quite a few different versions on my Box and I've never run into this problem before.

Thanks,
~Rx

PS... funny NineT9mustang just posted about that picture since I just noticed it myself? Pretty lousy place to be trying to get a tan.... fully clothed.... in what looks to be late fall.... cool.gif

PPS... Thanks for the border for the wide icons NineT9mustang. I've got it on every single one of my wide icons on my Box now and I've released a really cool wide icons pack with an easy to use interface for getting the icons on your box. (A ton of your stuff is included in there, and I gave everyone credit for every icon they did)

I didn't even know you came around here anymore since I never see you in the emu or XPORT threads. I've got a ton of your homebrew icons on my own box, so thanks for that as well.

Man, you can't just update the XBE.
You need the full build. All the files in a build.

ALL the XBMC save stuff is located inside your
USER PROFILE folder, inside XBMC directory.
It has nothing to do with TDATA or UDATA.

Why don't you try the trick I did mention above to
have a second XBMC installed without mess with your actual one?

Do it. Upload a complete new build to a folder called, I don't know - ALAS-XBMC.
Then run its XBE from the file manager. You will enter in the BRAND NEW install
and you will be able to check if you are looking for is there or not.

And TRUM LÍ LUM---Pá!!!!
