To xbox-scene moderators:
If you don't mind would it be okay to add your xml feed into XBS as one of the default feeds?

Nice work on this app, rendering the RSS feed into an image for streaming to the 360 is just pure genius, a true appropriation of technology beerchug.gif

I've obviously got poor imagination regarding how people integrate their X360's into their home entertainment environment, but this app leaves me genuinely confused. blink.gif If you need a PC on anyway, why not simply view the RSS feeds on that? If you want to view the RSS feeds in comfort on your central HDTV, why not just plug the PC directly into it via VGA?

I used to do this using Linux on the XBOX1, but the value of this was that I could do so with the PC off.

I fear I missing something. unsure.gif

Pedros, some people share a computer with other users and it's sometimes easier to just view news in your dashboard instead of visiting multiples sites on a computer. Plus your computer only needs to be turned on, no one needs to be logged into the computer for XB Stream to work since it runs as a windows nt service.

Obviously if there weren't a need for rss readers on devices other then for PC's people would not create them on pda's, cell phones, etc.

Sharpshooter, yeah you definately should be able to view your myspace posts on this. Regarding video, its very well possible and easy to do but hte problem is the XBOX 360 has no way to connect to your computer to watch videos - in the dashboard when you click MEDIA > VIDEOS there is no option to connect to your computer. The rumor around the internet is that this fall update will add that feature in.

I wasn't going to reply to this, but it's Friday and I'm bored....

PDAs, cell phones, etc. don't require to have the PC turned on as well *sigh*. tongue.gif smile.gif

I'm sure it's just me. wink.gif

For those running version 1.0 please download the most recent version from www.xbstream.com. Version 1.0 had a major bug in it causing all podcasts from a website to be downloaded. This bug and the result of having over 25,000+ users causes those podcast websites to become very sluggish/crash due to massive bandwidth being used up. Version 1.1 and higher fixes this issue and also makes the program less taxing on your computer.

Please download version 1.2 at http://www.xbstream.com

XB Stream version 1.4 is now out, this adds the ability to stream video podcasts/blogcasts/vidcasts over to your Xbox 360. The Xbox 360 dashboard update will be released Oct 31st which will officially support the streaming of videos to the 360 so you will still need that, you will also need Windows Media Player 11, or Windows Media Connect installed on your computer as usual.

Get it at: http://www.xbstream.com
