So ppl i new I need little help.

Im curious what to get, it seems like the way to go is pioneers dvd-standard with the somewhat cheep dvd-r blanks. What do the rest of you guys think?

And from what i have read, the burners only write in 2X mode...
Are there faster burners comming out within the next one or two months?

Guardian go read some posts, this has been talked about for the past 2 days here. Pioneer is best right now , it writes on 2x but only on certain media. Sanyo is coming with a 4x dvdr in the summer but noone knows what media will work at 4x and how much they will be.

i remember my old cdr (not rw, so u see how old it is) that could only burn at 2x took 35 minutes to burn around 650 megs!

2x dvd speed is not the same as 2x cd speed
Also dont forget, you will be burning 4.7 gig not 650 mb.

30 min isn't too bad...for a DVD

I guess I'm used to it since I had a 2x plextor CDR for a very long time

I believe a 2x dvd writer speed is the equivalent to 10x cdr burn speed

1x DVD burn is equal to about 9x CDr...... so 2x is like 16x CDr.......

and the pioneer A04 or A03 work great with some cheap ass DVD-r media........ some cheap Princo at $1 apiece work great in every thing ive tried them in after burned with the A03.......

if 1x dvd = 9x cd then wouldn't 2x dvd = 18x cd? anyways.. i never knew that the speeds were different for cd and dvd (someone doesn't have a dvd writer). thats really good news cause i thought to write a dvd at 2x it would take years to burn laugh.gif
