Okay i have XBMC 03-28-06 installed on my xbox. Well i had 150 gigs of movies on the hard drive and then this morning i was going to watch one and there was nothing in the movies folder. My tv shows are still there but none of my movies. No one messed with the xbox or anything they are just gone. My HDD says that i don't have the free space (in case they were deleted) it still states that i only have 10% free.

Now i know that i can reformat but don't want to have to resend all my movies.

Any help on this would be awesome.

thanks,

Dave

are you looking at it in Files view or Library view? has anyone else used your Xbox and is it possible they messed it up in some way? does looking for stuff in My Files show you anything different?

No one has messed with it, i was transfering movies over from xbox to xbox and all of my movies were there before the xfer and then right after i did the xfer they were gone.

I've checked my files and it shows i have no files or any size being taken but my overall hard drive usage is still almost maxed out.

I'm guessing i'll just have to reformat but i was wondering if anyone has had this happen or knows what causes it or how to avoid it in the future.

If you have a harddisk > 250Gb then you have possibly corrupted your disk.

Search the forums here for 300Gb harddisks and you'll see how to set them up correctly.

Yes just one big F drive. I just followed the steps on formating the hard drive by making 6 partitions. http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/hdd-install.php

Am i supposed to make another partition? if so how can i do it. i just used filezilla last time and stopped on 6 should i do it again and do 7?

Thanks

Also, XBMC detects that F drive is 297 gigs and i'm able to fill it. would that mean i still need to create the extra partition?

Yea I think you need to create the 7th partition, from what I read after a certain size with a large partition, the filesystem starts getting corrupted.
