I'm new to soft-modding so can someone help me out? I'm confused. Ok I have this tut where it says that I can install an upgraded HD in a soft-modded xbox through the help of a chipped xbox. It instructs to put the upgradded HD into the chipped xbox and lock it with ConfigMagic along with the unmodded xbox's eeprom in the eeprom folder. Then after you put in all the necessary files (ie the uxe complete), take the upgraded hd and put it in the unmodded xbox and you're set to go. What my question is what happens to the chipped xbox's HD when you put it back in. Will the chipped xbox still work with the HD even when we changed the eeprom to work with another HD? Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey i just did this yesterday...it was a big hassle because i tried using my chipped box to make an xbox hdd for a sofmod box...just use xboxhdm and make it with your computer it takes about 10 minutes and you can just put your softmod in the C folder and it will be good to go after your done...

First of all you unlock the chipped box's hdd then go about doing your stuff. When you've finished locking the softmod hdd just relock the chipped box's hdd again. I do allso believe that you will alter your chipped box's eeprom if you do it with config magic which is a very handy thing indeedy as if you ever bodge your softmodded hdd and it wont boot you can allways pop it back in the chipped box as the'll both have the same eeprom.
Here is a very good tutorial and if followed correctly will work first time

These are the best and easiest tutorials for
1) gaining FTP access to your box and soft modding it
