Ive got to use mirc aparentely.

For an unknown xbox version+Executer2 modchip (unknown version), ive managed to get:
A multi-version bios for Exectuer2 v4983
Cromwell flash bios v303
Slayers EvoX Autoinstaller 2.6 torrent

Is that everything i`ll be needing?

I dont think you'll be needing the flashbios as the X2 should come preflashed with it since it is a legal bios. Notice how the Slayers thing is a torrent, which is a file from the bittorrent p2p network. So you're going to have to find a bittorrent client and download the whole 370 mbs of the slayers iso file.. If you know what a torrent is.. sorry I just thought you were a n00b

And yeah, thats basically all you need, but not all you would want. You'd probably like a newer version of XBMC and other apps as well.

The torrent only came up as 158Mb in Azureus.
I couldnt find XBMC on the FTP site given in mirc. Is it essential?
What exactely does EvoX add? Or is it just a replacement dashboard thing? I dont really need some of the stuff that XBMC adds, just the DivX play back would be fine. Does EvoX support that?

EVOX is just a replacement dashboard... Slayers will become about 370 mb after you unrar it.. and if you saw the msg xbins gave to you, then you would see another ftp site which has xbins on it.. No XBMC is not essential..

The XBMC on slayers should have DivX playback.. It might look better on the newer version though..

How do you mean?
So i basically need XBMC for DivX playback?

Im currently DLing a 30Mb rar off the other FTP website, called "XBMC-2004-08-12.rar".
I asume that thats the XBMC that i need? Will it have the slayers thing in it?

The SlayerEvoX need a password. Is it against the rules to ask where i can get it from?

Slayers 2.6 has:

- the evox dashboard
- XBMC included (it's an older version though) .. that'll work fine with divx movies
- DVD2Xbox (for storing games on your HD)
- every other utility that you need to get started

basically, after you install the chip .. all you really need is a flash bios bootable disk and the Slayers Auto installer bootable disk

it's a beautiful thing

q1. you'll be able to figure it out. not sure if it's an "option" to go with evo or XBMC as a dash .. by default I think it'll give you evo as a dash .. just stick with evo as a start, you can change it to XBMC later .. not to sound like a dick but do a little more reading on that

Problem.
Just got the xbox, its a crappy one chip mod chip with a bad wiring job. A bad wiring job that has a loose wire.
I taped it down, and on the "xbox logo" it says Executer2, and the screens after that, according to a mate, and from what ive seen, is just normal xbox dash, with the MS system info screen as well. (ie, MS branding).
What would the system do if i just cut out the mod chip? Would it revert back to its old state, asuming that the dash software is unchanged?

i am not sure, but i do not think the MS will work and if the there was xecuter logo, than your bios is installed (hacked), the reason it is the same thing becuase you do not have a dashboard, i think that is where all the options are.
Note: I installed Xenium with Solerless adapter, and when I take it out my xbox original dash does not show up.
Besides just solder that wire back on or something, i dunno the condition of it but get a solder iron, it aint that hard.
