Im the lucky owner of a green Matrix chipped Xbox running with bios version Evox d.6ef.

Dashbord is Evolution X version 2.8.3285

I have installed a 120GB harddisk to it, with the intention to use it as a transportable (external) harddrive for large files.

Unfortunately have I found that the xbox doesn't boot withtout the AV / scart cable connected to the Xbox.

Is there any way to boot the Xbox without AV cable?

Thanks in advance.

not that i know of, but the xbox will boot if the a/v cable is plugged into the xbox, but not the tv. so my suggestion buy an extra cable off ebay for like $2 cut the end off since you will be transporting it and just using it for files, and then plug it in to the xbox and success.

The xecuter bios will let you boot without AV cable

(the LED will still flash orange/green, but evo-x will still load)

Hi,

Thanks for the inputs.

kkattfish,
I have been thinking about buying the spare cable myself, but it isn't the best solution.

catdog2,
Is there anywhare where I can read / confirm that the executer bios works?? I have been told that this isn't controlled by the bios!

Does it work on your Xbox??

Where do I find information about how to replace the Bios... I have been looking in the Torurials without a great luck.

as stated, you will get the green/orange error code, but it will boot fine
