I've noticed that you can cancel and change your player after the other person picks theirs.
I generally pick Ken... but if the other person picks E Honda, Chun Li, M Bison or Blanka I change and pick the same as them! Then just do the same 1 move / button bash that they do. 50 / 50 chance of winning that way instead of being stuck in a corner and hand slapped to death!!

e-hondas the only one of those thats hard to beat... and he wouldnt be anywhere near as bad if the d-pad was reliable... if you get stuck in a corner do an air hurricane kick to get out, then just keep blasting different speed fireballs and dragon punch his bitch ass sumo splash's...

ive not faced a good player playing ehonda, just cheap ass ones... now good players picking dhalsim and sagat fucking suck, so goddamn difficult to beat...

"cheap cheap cheap" that's all I've ever heard since SFII was born.

Every character's "cheap" moves as you call them can all be countered
by some technique. Its just a matter of learning how to get around them.

Anyone who complains about someone being 'cheap',
just is not a good fighter.

There is no better feeling than having someone whoop everyone's ass for 10-15 games,
and then finally figuring out the strategy to beat them. And once you figure out that strategy,
you find out that they are a "one time wonder"

Its boring breaking records and winning game after game after game. Beating a smart ass
at their own game... Now thats fun! biggrin.gif

apparently you didnt read the entire post... i stated EXACTLY the method for ryu and ken that you should use to beat CHEAP e-honda users... however, and also previously mentioned, this is not easily done with the crap d-pad of the default controller...

personally im getting a sf2 stick and modding it to work with the 360...

Beating Chun Li with Ryu or Ken is simple really if you can pull off a dragin punch every time - but given the state of the D-pad, its probably a 1/4 chance of me managing it!
Thats why I just pick the same character and play them at their own game!

There are so many folk going about who win loads of games but probably dont know any special moves... jump kick, jump kick who are difficult to beat!

I'm still convinced that level 3 on the 360 is MUCH harder than the original arcade!

You are correct, my apologies. I did not read the entire post.
I have 'selective reading' (I'm seeing a doctor about this)
and for some reason the words "cheap" stick out like they are in bold type. Hahah! jester.gif

Sorry again.

Yes, I fired up Hyper Fighting on my MAME Arcade machine,
Daves Showcae and once I got past 2 or 3 opponents
and then it got REAL hard. (On the arcade machine's DEFAULT settings) Harder than I remember.
And I'm a veteran player, (very good at most if not all the characters) playing on actual arcade controls.

Now, I'll admit that I've played the heck out of just about all versions of SFII,
EXCEPT the Hyper Fighting edition. I didn't care for the speed-up that much so I stayed away
from it, so maybe this one in particular is a little 'harder' or when it comes to fighting against the computer.

--by the way-- When challenging someone, is there a way to modify the 'speed' of the game during character selection, or the power of damage? (on the 360)
I know you could do this on the Arcade version of Super SFII: New Challengers - turbo
but I don't have much HF experience.

The jump close to them and hard kick the wrong side of them is always good, you have to block the wrong way to stop the hit. Ken is the cheapest character as his dragon punch beats everything and fireball/small dragon punch is pretty good if you can do it everytime.

Chun Li is one of the few fighters I can win with. I used to be great with all of them but many of them have clearly been adjusted. Guile is now a lot better. He has a mid air backbreaker that used to be impossible to pull off. I had probably seen it twice ever. Just the first night of playing this version I did it 5 times! But back to Chun Li. She has highly unique kicks. Pressing forward and hard kick when against a still opponent lets you jump in the air and kick them in the back. Humans almost never block this. On top of that you can bounce on E.Honda's head 3 times before reaching the ground. Still, Blanka is super cheap. He can nullify most attacks by going electric. He also has a high priority spin attack that can be charged while being electric.

Whew I'm glad I'm not the only one that's hard a hard time not-sucking at this game. I finally beat it on 3, only lost 4 rounds the entire way through. Damn Dragon punch is a bitch to pull off with this controller, I used to be able to nail it effortlessly on SNES.
