As the topics says i'm looking for suggestions on the best way to remove the sides of an xbox 360 slim chassis \ case so that I can use the cutdown chassis to mount the 360 slim motherboard into a PC case.

Heres a pic of what i'm talking about:

I'd want the sides gone to get the best airflow possible and also for looks.

A dremel tool would work wonders.

I would personally create a custom mount from scratch. Trying to cut that metal casing down is going to be serious work, (not that it can't be done, but it's a one-shot project). If you're brave, let the sparks fly! lol

I'd break the spot welds, flatten it, and use a jigsaw to cut it on the seams, then a grinder and file to get rid of the burrs and smooth it out.

Dremel is best, as you can see from my picture you posted that's what I used, making your own is just as easy.

Ive done it before, it doesnt take as long as your thinking with the big reinforced cutting wheels. Maybe 10 minutes.

If you want to do it in about 1/2 the time, use an angle grinder. Your cuts will NOT be pretty with it though!
