Let us see. Off the top of my head, I can think of some pretty horrible vg -> movie conversions. Of course you have Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter, Super Mario Brothers, Alone in the Dark, House of the Dead 1&2, Blood Rayne, Doom certainly wasn't great, and we must not forget the worst of the bunch... Double Dragon, that is sans the super hot Alyssa Milano. Actually, I think Wing Commander beats Double Dragon.

Whos the Boss is on at 3am locally, I try and watch it every night lately(some of you probably never heard of the show). I remember watching it in the mid to late 80's when it was on tv, and ocassionally I sprouted wood while watching the her bebop around. I believe her and I are around the same age so...

update: shes 2 years older than me, Thanks google. shes going to be 35 soon, and to think I liked her when she was 10. where in the fug did 2.5 decades go?!?!?

about the whole uwe boll thing, hopefully he will figure out what he's doing and make a good movie (especially since he's apparently making a farcry movie)

he doesn't seem to have much background, it looks like he was doing small scale movies and hasn't done anything big yet. does anyone know if blood rayne or alone in the dark were better then house of the dead? (not necessarily good,but if they showed any sign of improvement) the only reason i try to give him a chance is because it seems like video game companies still seem to be giving him the licenses to make movies.

don't forget that (i can't belive im comparing these two people) peter jackson (lord of the rings, king kong, halo) has made some HORRIBLE movies. go rent dead alive (not dead or alive, just plain old dead alive) and watch in amazement as this movie might actually be worse then house of the dead

also, i can't seem to remember house of the dead having 1 actor/actress i had actually heard of, the dungeon siege movie has burt reynolds, at least thats a step in the right direction, if he can learn from some of his idiotic mistakes (no i do not want video game clips thrown into random parts of my movie) and get some good people in his movie he might make something good (keyword is might, he hasn't made anything good yet as far as i know)

its because he's cheap. bloodrayne also had some known actors in it and it still flopped. good actors are nothing without a good director. i think the guy is a waste of skin and should just quit before he gets lynched by a mob of gamers.

Peter Jackson also had $50 to his name when he made Dead Alive. And he made Bad Taste which may have been worse. Uwe Boll is literally given EVERYTHING he needs (star talent, funding, licencing, etc.) to make a good movie and he butchers them. He's got no directorial talent, no story-writing talent and no imagination. Worst of all, he blames the press for his "failures" and not himself. PJ at least has vision and self-accountability. Speaking of PJ, I wonder how Halo will turn out. Thank Christ MS didn't sell it to Uwe Boll's funders.

BTW Dead Alive is a classic b rate horror movie...what is better then mowing down hordes of zombies...with a lawnmower?

You're right shin... I got mixed up! Bad Taste was his first movie. It was the Frighteners he worked on that I was thinking of. I have seen Dead Alive... but i'd give it C-rated horror. Funny shit though. I will give it marks for trying to be campy!

I thought I was the only person who saw Dead Alive, lol. Loved that movie (for the gore only). Will never forget the dinner scene.

I bought House of the Dead as a horror movie, I didn't even realize it was based after the game (never really played the game) when I bought it and couldn't believe I bought such a horrible movie. Out of my horror collection of 100 or so movies, that is the only one I ever consider selling, just because I don't want it in my collection cause it's that damn bad.

Being from NZ I can assue you Dead Alive is directed and made by PJ. Over here it's called Brain Dead however. He first made Bad Taste, then Dead Alive but ran out of money, so made Meet the Feebles to get some cash, then finished Dead Alive, from memory. Meet the Feebles is a messed up version of The Muppets, done PJ style

Then he made Heavenly Creatures for which he was nominated for an Oscar... might have got something for effects, not sure. This caught the US attention. Then he got funding from the US and made The Frighteners and LOTR etc...
