Good day,
First of all, please allow me to apologize if this question has already been asked; I did do, what I thought to be a thorough search, but I have been wrong before. I just recently became the proud owner of a modded Xbox. Games play fine, but DVD's do not. The drive will read them just fine, and will even show their contents, but will not play. Clearly I am missing something. Any idea??? Side note: No, I do not have not yet purchased the DVD remote for this yet...Is this required??? Little info: Xbox software UnleashX Thanks again. P.S. This site rocks. Every time I have an issue, people get back to me quite quickly (granted I have only had one other post). Thanks again for everybody's hard work. |

You need one of a few things. Either the DVD playback kit to watch on the M$ dash, XBMC, or DVDX2 (region free dvd player).

So correct me if I am wrong (I never claimed to be the sharpest tool in the shed).
I merely download this DVDX2 program and then I transfer it into one of my Xbox folders??? It can't be this simple is it??? Thanks again |

personally id recommend xbmc over dvdx2, but yes, you put it in your apps folder, launch it from the apps menu and put in your dvd (for either one, same procedure)

Pretty much. Get DVDX2 from the usual places (it will be rarred). Un-rar it on your PC. FTP to your Xbox, and install the unrarred (DVDX2) folder into F:/apps on your box. Restart and you should see it on your dashboard menu.

You make a new folder in E:\apps\ and put all the DVDX2 files and folder in that. Then you launch DVDX2 from Unleashx to watch a DVD.

Id suggest changing your dash to xbmc. Its the best in my opinion. You can find it in the usual place.
Id suggest you make sure you d/l all the codecs just incase this is your problem. With a normal dvd it probably wont be tho. |
