Well i took the jump into the pot and picked up a mod chip. i got the Alladin advance v. 32 chip, and installed it correctly, to the best of my knoledge ( all connections made, and the xbox boots up normally ) and i had a few questions. i am not sure if the thing is even installed correctly, the instructions all over the web are sketchy at best. yeah when i hold the power button down for a second or 2 the eject button light goes rainbow on me
Do i need to put a bios on this chip, and if so, are there instructions on how to go about flashing my particuliar chip somewhere around here ( I already have the Evolution M7 binary )? What about Evo X, Does that need to be installed? Matter of fact, has anyone succeessfully used the aladdin chip i am using and can somewhat validate that i did the right/wrong thing and maybe give me some more chip specific tips? Thanks for your help, espcially with the tutorials section, it REALLY helped! |

No problems with the aladdin and it will be pre-flashed in 99% of cases.
Do not go by the promise of a different start up screen in a different colour. This can be done with XBtool and some suppliers actually started off doing this but most probably stopped to save the messing around, so even with the chip enabled the screen you get will look the same as usual until you install a dash of some kind Only hold the power for 1 to 2 secs and release to get the chip to be enabled. Next step is to install evox dash or similar from CDRW or try a back up to confirm you have a working chip |
