Hey all,

I've been reading through some tutorials that describve how to upgrade your xbox 360 hard drive for cheap. Basically, the new hdd is detected and properly formatted but I just have a question about data recovery. I would like to have all of my old gamesaves on the new hdd. Should I recover the gamertag, then copy over my gamesaves using xplorer360 or do I just copy over all of partition 3 from the old hdd onto partition 3 of the new hdd?

Basically, does copying over partition 3 from the old one automagically copy over my gamertag information as well?

Sorry for the noob question but I just want to be 100% certain before proceeding. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Iceman

If you run the initial setup on the 360 and make an offline profile you do not need to copy over partition 2 it gets created for you and works for xbox1 games just fine.
