Is the PS3 as a blu ray player region locked as i have a PAL PS3 but would like to watch blu ray movies from other regions. I have seen info about the games being region free but what about the player?

360 version: v5.0 (360S - trinity)
As chancer said, Blu-Ray, DVD and PS2/1 games are all region locked, only PS3 games are not.

damn i just purchased some blu ray dvds which were region free so i assume these will play? i checked the blu ray movie database and there are only a few blu ray discs that are region locked?

contains that list. check it before you buy because if the movie is a different region code it will not work. The ones tested as region free on the list should be fine
