There have been some bad lightning storms here lately and my wireless router and ethernet port on my xbox have stopped working. Replaced the router and bought a wireless adapter (old style xbox). The wireless adapter works, but every so often (10-20 min) I'll be disconnected from xbox live. Network settings say that an ethernet cord is plugged in while using my wireless adapter, which is funny, since plugging in an ethernet cord won't register. I can easily take apart my xbox and attempt a hardware fix, but I don't have any experience soldering or anything like that. Honestly, I'd be ok entirely disabling my ethernet port, if that would allow my wireless to stop getting disconnected. I'm not about to send it in to microsoft, I'd be better off buying a new xbox, but I'd really like to keep this one going.
Short version: Can I disable my ethernet on my xbox while continuing to use my wireless for xbox live?
