Just soldered the wires, and plugged it in. I booted my computer and my xbox turned on too.

I cd to the directory, started nandpro and got that classic error of

"Testing LPT device: address: 0378
Testing LPT device: address: 0278
...
Could not detect a flash controller!
can not continue"

Strange part though, my xbox turns back off the instant it runs the nand command. I'm checking my points, I've removed the resistors and the diodes and put them back.

Just out of ideas.

Your console will turn off because of the connector installed on the system. You do not need the console powered on in order to read the NAND. You only need the power cable inserted and plugged into the wall.

As for it not seeing your controller, best thing to do is try a different computer. LPT connectors tend to work better on older computers (running Windows 95). Also, make sure the port on your computer is onboard and not a PCI card. Another thing to check is your BIOS setting for the port. Make sure you have it set to Normal mode.
