Softmod Installer Deluxe V2.0 Options

Hey everyone i neeed help. I've installed a copy of soft mod installer deluxe 2.0 to my xbox, and i dont know if i did it right. I used a mechassault game save. What i did was "Install Softmod" then "Install unleash X" and then rebooted. when i rebooted it started up with the "UnleashX" screen and seem to be working, i can gain FTP. Heres the problem, there was a "Patch 5978", "Install EvoX" and someother stuffthat i didnt install, did i need to install that as well? Thanks

go to the forums that support SID. We don't support crap here. I would be cautious with picking options though cuz it might render your xbox in a useless state.

No, your xbox is technically fine, BUT you didnt make an MS backup which is a big no no if you want your MS dash back.

sorry for double posting , anyways it did say Patch 5978 it said "Patch MS 5960" does anyone know waht this does, Thanks

Thanks i think im starting to understand what you mean now, after a very long time of research lol. Anways i have another question, if i used the SID installer and i installed it to my xbox. Then gain FTP through it and replacing the evoxdash.xbe file with a newer one taht i got on my other xbox. my old xbox was modded by someone else, i gained FTP through it and too kthe evoxdash.xbe from there, and then replaced the one on my new xbox, I tried it and it seems to be working fine, the way its suppose to. On the internet i heard that the SID installer messes up the xbox after running 2004 and new games, well if tahts the case would i be the same after i put the new dashbaord on it? thanks

Ok... First off. There is an option to make a back up in SID. Weather he used it or not is his downfalll or advantage.

What it does is it patches your dashes to work with the hacked xboxdash.xbe and what not. But SID is ok for ppl who know what there doing. Oh and Since you didnt bother to read the README....Youll have to get slayers or something of the equivalent to restore your MS dash. But Great installers Krayzie. Anymore expected to come? or are you more on hacking the 360?

you best bet it to use kingroach's NDURE installer for PC
then FTP the "new C and E" to your xbox
make sure to read the readme first if you do...

Right....So I can't dislike SID now anymore? It still sucks and the error post count due to this installer is becoming higher and higher. No n00b should use it IMO.

First off, DJB created SID... not krizalid. Second, although SID works... it's not as good nor as noob friendly as Krayzie's softmod packages. Now, with that said... here's the answer for the original post.

Backup M$ Dash option was to make a backup of your stock M$ files just in case you needed to uninstall the softmod down the road (and is important if you want your M$ dash to work with your softmod).

The Patch M$ Dash option is there so you can make your M$ dash work with the softmod package. Go ahead and try loading M$ dash through UnleashX and you'll see how important these items are.

Now, Krayzie is correct in stating you should consult the the people who created and/or support that installer. The HQ forums is where you should be asking for tech support on this installer... not xbox-scene.


SID causes noobs problems for 1 reason... noobs don't like to read. That's also the reason some people have problems with Krayzie's installers. Now go back and research, then post questions in the HQ forum if you still insist on using SID.
